How cute and artistic are our kids going to be???

Okay, so the past few weeks I've been taking heat from Michelle for never posting anything having to do with her on my blog. The reason as I've explained is that I like to keep a certain level of discretion when dealing with my private life. All of that aside, I've broken down and decided to spotlight one of her new projects, a blog where she's been posting examples of her craftwork. She's been striving to complete a new craft project each weekend, and then she posts images and a detailed breakdown of her inspiration and process. It really is a great blog, and I'm proud of her and the work that she does. She's extremely talented, and I couldn't love her more. Check it out, and if you like what she's doing, leave her comments. She'd love to hear from you.

One of my favorites, the Batman TV show turned 40 a few days ago and the event and back-history has been wonderfully chronicled on the fantastic "Dial B for Blog" site. The images posted above were lifted from that site, I hope Robby doesn't mind. Robby at "Dial B for Blog" has broken up the information over several days. The links to each day so far are listed below, I'll try to keep up with him for updates. Check it out!

Can't you just smell the model glue?

An homage to plastic car kits, Jellio Design has produced these one-of-a-kind wall sculptures (with manufacturing by renowned Utleys). They're only making 10 of these, so you'd better step up.

From the Jellio website:

TURBO wall art- $2,500.00

Remember Revell models? They were the plastic car kits we used to put together when we were young, with a little glue and a lot of patience. We've taken inspiration from those classic toys to create TURBO, a one-of-a-kind wall sculpture from Jellio Design.

Based on the sprue element the model parts were atached to, TURBO is the first in a series of limited-edition pieces designed to evoke many fond memories from childhood. We're only making ten of these, so you know you'll have something truly unique. It's guaranteed to become the topic of countless hours of conversation in any home.

I've recently been made aware of a number of blog sites which feature a group of illustrators who come together in one place to post examples of their work on a regular basis.

Here's an example: DYJCMAP?

I was so impressed with the idea, that I decided to develop a blog of my own in this vein. The result is a wonderful new weblog with the awe inspiring title: Sugar Frosted Goodness! Actually, the title just kinda came to me as I was hashing out the idea, I wanted to come up with something completely random, yet at the same time, leave a pleasant taste in the viewers mouth. (Insert groan here!)

Visit the site by clicking here: Sugar Frosted Goodness!

As of this writing there are 14 contributors including myself, with 4 more who've requested to be added as members, but who haven't yet clicked on the blogger invite button. This is exciting to me as the site is at this time just a week old. Not bad at all! Check out the site, there are some extremely talented illustrators taking part, and a plethora of inspiring design and illustrator-centric links to review as well. I think you'll be impressed.

Design Inspiration Blog receives mention on DRAWN!

A recent interview on “Design” Inspiration has been noted on the website DRAWN!

Jared Chapman, a regular contributor to DRAWN! was the subject of the recent interview. His wonderfully humorous illustrations really stood out to me on the Illustration Friday website, I contacted him and convinced him to participate. He's a very talented guy, super-nice too.
