One-Eyed Monsters
This was done in a couple of minutes. All fourth grade sexual innuendo aside, what is it with me and one-eyed monsters lately?

Recently Seen: Ward Jenkins
Same magazine, different page! Page 176 to be exact.
That's right folks, as I've made my way through the April 2007 issue of HOW Magazine, I've come across yet another SFG'er.
This time it's another long-time SFG contributor, Ward Jenkins. Ward was the character designer and animator of the 2006 show reel for his employer, Primal Screen, which was deemed Outstanding for the category of Motion Design. The April issue of HOW Magazine is the International Design Annual.
Congratulations Ward!
I interviewed Ward Jenkins for Design Inspiration back in July of '06. Check it out here.

RECENTLY SEEN: JOSH COCHRAN
Hey all! I've decided to add a new feature to SFG called Recently Seen. Recently Seen is where I'll post examples of work by SFG members seen or found outside of the SFG site.
For example, while thumbing through my latest issue of HOW magazine today I came across some work I recognized instantly. Having been doing this for a while now, I've become quite familiar with the style and work of a large number of the SFG regulars.
Josh Cochran is a long time contributor to the site, and while he doesn't make it over as much as I would like, he does pop his head in from time to time to share some of his awesome work with us.
This piece is on page 80 of the April 2007 issue of HOW magazine. Check it out!
And, if you come across the work of one of your SFG compatriots out there in the (gasp) real world, let me know or send it to me and I'll feature it here.
Thanks!
Jeff
I interviewed Josh back in January of 2006 for Design Inspiration. Check it out here.

You Know You're Becoming A Design Geek When:
Saw this online today and thought it was funny. Design is a sickness, know the warning signs!
Learn to spot the warning signs in time
Learn to spot the warning signs in time
– you know you're becoming a design geek when:
- You giggle whenever you use the colors F0CCED, EFF0FF and 44DDDD
- You’re in the sun and you look around for a Drop Shadow to sit under.
- You give your relatives a lecture about color spaces and profiles when you email them your vacation photos.
- Seing someone use Lens Flare or Comic Sans adversely affects your blood-pressure
- You maintain a grid system for your refrigerator magnets.
- You organise your CD collection according to the Pantone chart.
- You sit at work for eight hours straight just looking at your monitor, waiting for a spark of inspiration that doesn't come.
- You're up 'til 5am because you came up with the best idea ever while brushing your teeth.
- The hottest dream you ever had was "Trace contour... Find Edges... Pinch... Extrude... Smudge Stick... Motion Blur.... Sprayed Strokes..."
- You know Lorem Ipsum by heart.
- Your kid knows Lorem Ipsum by heart.
- The preschool teacher complains your child won't color inside or outside the lines – only indicate colors on a separate sheet.
- Activating your entire font collection makes your computer crash – and you're running OSX.
- You deliberately butcher your perfectly cross browser compatible site in IE by placing a “Too Cool for IE” banner on it.
- You prefer a Layer Style of 50% Opacity (or less) on your wife’s Satin.
- You spend $200 on a font for your personal website because "it's the only one where the lower-case g is just right..."
- Looking at a menu make you go "hmmm, ITC Baskerville italic" rather than "mmmm, lunch!"
- And when you finally order, you go for Layer Based Slices with Grain Texture...
- You use words about fonts you dislike that
othernormal people reserve for fascist dictators and serial killers. - Apple+Z is the first thing that goes through your mind if you drop and break something.
- You refer to colleagues as Strict, Transitional, Loose and the Future Unemployed.
- You refer to your privates as "the Magic Wand".
- You actually understand this post and pass it on to your friends.

Man In Black
With all of these aliens, robots and monsters I've been cranking out, you would have to assume that a guy like Agent Funger would happen along eventually.
Funger can be a little uptight, and alot anal retentive. His names springs from the "original" uptight, anal dude...Felix Unger from the Odd Couple.
